Who is Laura Ziesel?

Born a Yank and raised in the South, Laura Ziesel is earning her MA in Theological Studies at Azusa Pacific University and is a director at a Christian ministry organization. She is a graduate of New York University, having studied history, religious studies, and Irish studies. While at NYU, Laura learned as much from New York City as she did from her classes, and it cemented in her a love for urban dwelling.

Upon leaving NYU, Laura accepted a position with The Navigators in Boston. She served and learned from amazing students at Boston University for three years. During her time in Boston she married her long-time friend and coworker in June 2008.

Laura now resides in Azusa, California with her husband who is pursuing his doctorate from APU. They attend Glenkirk Church in Glendora, CA. She loves exploring the West Coast and the amazing people who live there but she does miss being a city dweller.

Laura's first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage in April 2011, which is why she has written freely about pregnancy, trying to conceive, and the road to parenting. She gave birth to her son, August, in August 2012 and her daughter, Cordelia, in May 2014. Her main purpose in writing this blog, however, is simply to make following Jesus seem a little less crazy, especially for people who ask themselves if it's worth all of the confusion.

She longs for the day when God's Kingdom is fully realized on earth, as it is in heaven.
